The Strangest Package

Published by Ron at 10:35 am under Books

This has to be, without compare, the strangest package that I’ve ever received. As the USPS mailman said, “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

It’s a big picture because it’s a big Royal Mail mailbag! Four feet high and thirteen pounds of Great Britain Post! It even flew American Airlines (flight AA107) from Heathrow to JFK.

Inside? A box of Folio books that I ordered. Normally they ship out of somewhere in the US. But, for some reason, these came from jolly old England in a giant sack.

Man, now what can I do with a giant mail sack???

We manage to get all of our frozen, fresh veggies, meat, and cheeses into two large insulated Sam’s Club insulated bags. They get heavy, but not too horrible Maybe 15 lbs.

For cans and bottles, no way, they have to be bagged in smaller stuff. Or, do like GFS does, and put things in cardboard boxes. That works pretty well, but the store had to be set up for that (GFS has big spaces for boxes near the register).

In fact, coming to think of it, I think that GFS does the best for grocery checkout. You do one cart to another, using boxes.

You can use it to store clothes? My grandma used to have a military sack (one of those cylindrical and green color) and she used to put clothes that we could not use because of the season.
