Shop Cat

Published by Ron at 12:13 pm under Ron's Rambling,Shop Talk

He needs a home. Old neighbors left him (a year ago). Then someone was taking care of him, but over the past week he’s been very needy. So I think that whomever was taking care of him moved away. An outdoor cat, but craves to go inside. I’ll have to build him a condo.

Looks like Jack. A dumped cat who moved in with us, and now he’s been here 3 years.

Hi Ron! Please consider my reques: The Naturalists-In-Training volunteers at Bernheim Forest (bernheim.org) near Bardstown KY is having a retreat Oct 28-29. During it, we’d like to assemble the child-sized Leopold bench you posted on Sep 9, 2009. However, the link to the assembly instructions doesn’t seem to work anymore. Could you email me a set of instructions? When I print the page directly from the internet, the photos and drawings don’t show. As an aspiring woodworker, I need them to be able to prep the wood so we can assemble the bench at the retreat. This first bench will be donated to Bernheim. The assembly will help us decide if we want to make more of them, either for use around Bernheim’s play areas or for our homes.
Really enjoy your website, now that I’ve found it! Thanks in advance.

Hi Susan, you can find the Leopold plans here (in PDF format):

    http://austinurbancoops.com/auc-wp/leopold-bench-plans/

These are the assembly guides we put together (when we offered these as kits–we no longer do, too costly to ship).

I think I also have a PDF with more details on the cuts (the assembly guide assumes you have a kit — pre-cut). If I can find the other PDF,
    I’ll send it over.

Best of luck with your build,
